At The Pineapple Projects, we provide fully furnished home interiors and essential items to qualified individuals and families in Pinellas County—because a roof alone doesn’t make a home.
How Our Nomination Process Works.
We accept nominations for people and families in need from social service agencies, schools, and churches. Once received, our team reviews each submission to ensure the nominee qualifies.
To qualify for support from The Pineapple Projects, nominees must:
- Live in Pinellas County
- Have housing in their name (lease or deed)
- Have a steady income (employment, Social Security, disability, etc.)
- Have no felony convictions in the past 12 months
- Have needs that align with our available resources
If eligible and our resources align with their needs, we get to know the family and then schedule a Project Day to furnish their home with essential items they’ve requested.
Project Day
After an individual or family is nominated for a project and approved by our nomination committee, our team of expert interior designers and dedicated volunteers jump into action to create a dream home. We spend weeks planning, learning about the family, and pulling together every detail of every room—and then we’re ready for Project Day.
Project Day is a magical experience for both the neighbors we serve and our volunteers. In just a few hours, we transform empty spaces into beautiful, functional homes—designed with care around each person’s unique needs, style, interests, and story. From rugs and drapes, to beds and kitchenware, every detail is chosen to bring comfort, dignity, and hope for a new chapter.
While each project depends on available resources in our warehouse, we do our best to make every space feel like a dream realized—because we all deserve a home that helps us heal, grow, and feel at peace.
